OBLIGATORY THIRD-PERSON BIOGRAPHY |
PAT N. LEWIS grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA, but now lives and works in a bachelor pad within the city limits. Though he's been drawing since he was a tyke, Pat started to get really serious about it sometime during his senior year at Penn State. Now, fueled only by a disturbing combination of coffee and junk food, he spends all his time drawing illustrations and making hilarious comics.
Artistic influences include: Paul Coker Jr., Tex Avery, Charles Schulz, Bill Watterson, Walt Disney, Norman Rockwell, N.C. Wyeth, Gil Elvgren, Chuck Jones, Jim Henson, Jay Stephens, everyone at Pixar Animation, and about a million more brilliant cartoonists, illustrators, and dreamers.

| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
- Why the name "Lunchbreak Comics?"
It seemed like a good idea at the time. My comics are for everyone, and everyone gets time out for lunch: kids, students, working stiffs. I thought everyone could relate.
- So, you make a living drawing cartoons?
Yeah, I pay the bills as a professional illustrator. It's great, but not quite the same as making comics, though. While I love telling stories through sequential art, there isn't a large enough audience for alternative (that is, non-superhero) comic books to make it a realistic full-time career.
- Do you have any advice for aspiring cartoonists?
Practice. A lot!

- What are your favorite things to draw?
In no particular order: Robots, monsters, fat guys, pretty girls, cowboys, dogs, sharks, aliens, and old people.
- What's next from Lunchbreak Comics?
Well, right now I'm celebrating the release of THE CLAWS COME OUT, which hit stores December 2007. Throughout 2008, I'll be promoting the book at conventions and working on my next project--an entirely original full-length graphic novel. Details to follow!
